The Promo for Vendor Markets:
Hi, I’m Ann of Apple Creek Farm — a family hobby farm and fiber arts business focused on historically inspired textile traditions for modern makers.
What began with teaching myself to knit during my first pregnancy eventually grew into a deep love of spinning, weaving, and historical fiber arts. After receiving an antique walking wheel in 2021, I fell headfirst into researching traditional spinning practices from Early American settlers to Iron Age and medieval textile cultures. Today, that passion has grown into a thriving business creating handmade spinning tools and natural fiber goods.
At our booth you’ll find hand-turned wooden spindles, distaffs, supported spindle bowls, nosteppines, crochet hooks, and woven accessories — all inspired by historical forms and made for everyday use. Many of our tools are based on archaeological finds and traditional European spinning styles, including Spin Like a Viking kits, medieval suspended spindles, Oseberg distaffs, Scottish dealgans, and more.
Everything we make is rooted in natural materials: wood finished simply with oil, wool and fibers without synthetics or superwash treatments, and a strong belief that tools should be beautiful and fun. We like to say, “Spindles are the original fidget spinners!”
Education is also a major part of Apple Creek Farm. Through social media, workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on conversations at events, we love helping people discover the joy of spindle spinning and historical fiber arts.
Stop by the booth to see spinning demonstrations, ask questions, and explore tools and textiles inspired by centuries of fiber traditions.
